This is a map of the proposed Waterford/New London Greenway to connect Bates Woods  to Mitchell Woods in New Lodon, CT. This project is being carried out by ASA Inc. in associtation with the Science and Technology Magnet High School and Mitchell College. The purpose is to connect and preserve the habitats of native and endangered plants and animals in the area. This will have several benefits including preservation of endangered species and increased natural wetland filtration of water emptying into the Long Island Sound at Alewife Cove at Ocean Beach. This will help reduce nutrient and bacteria levels at local beaches.
